E' passato veramente tanto tempo dall'ultima volta che vi ho segnalato le più interessanti uscite del mese, lo so.. ma conciliare il lavoro e la vita (quella che resta) privata è già difficile e stancante, se poi ci metto anche il blog divento matta! Trama

Fosco è un giovane programmatore con tre grandi passioni: i videogiochi, il parkour e la sua ragazza Gaia. Per sbarcare il lunario collabora con una rivista specializzata. Dopo anni di convivenza, Gaia esige da lui un gesto maturo. Per non deluderla, Fosco pensa di candidarsi per una promozione, sebbene questo significhi aumentare le ore di lavoro e abbandonare definitivamente il videogioco che sta progettando da anni. Mentre lui è alle prese con i suoi dubbi, tutta la redazione è in fermento per l’arrivo di Emilia, una modella star dei social, che collaborerà con la rivista per qualche tempo. Per Fosco la comparsa della popolarissima influencer non è altro che l’ennesima scocciatura, ma una serie di coincidenze inattese porterà i due ad avvicinarsi e a scoprire un’affinità sorprendente... > LA STORIA

"Attenzione, il seguente romanzo può causare infarti multipli, accompagnati da disturbi quali fangirlamento pesante, trasformazione dei bulbi oculari in oggetti cuoriformi e perenne presenza di Rhopalocere nell'apparato digestivo." Questa doveva essere l'avvertenza nella prima pagina, ma non c'era.. però io ero preparata, essendo questo il terzo romanzo di Bianca che leggo.. solo non pensavo che questi "disturbi" si sarebbero manifestati COSI' pesantemente! Come sempre è stato un piacere leggere questo romanzo, che mi ha catturata dall'inizio alla fine!
Stavolta però, oltre al piacere della lettura, mi ha accompagnata un sentimento nuovo: il ripensamento. Ammetto senza problemi che questo romanzo è stato una sfida perchè sono partita a leggere molto prevenuta: sapendo che la protagonista è una Instagirl bella, seguita e senza nessuna apparente "capacità" (insomma, una ragazza tutta apparenza e basta) ero certa che non l'avrei sopportata, dato che già a pelle non vado matta per le persone che basano tutta la loro vita sull'apparenza... Ed in effetti, la prima apparizione di Emilia è la seguente: si fa un selfie e lo posta su Instagram, cercando le parole e gli hashtag giusti da accompagnare alla foto... ho subito storto il naso, giudicandola superficiale e inutile.. insomma, il tuo "lavoro" è fare la modella, posti foto che fanno tendenza, hai una relazione con un calciatore... non avrai un problema al mondo! E invece non potevo sbagliare di più.
Poco a poco si è fatta conoscere e comprendere, perchè tutto l'oro che la circonda in realtà è una gabbia, perchè le foto che posta raffigurano solo la facciata esteriore e se la guardi da vicino è piena di crepe, perchè il suo ossessivo voler apparire è solo un tentativo di essere guardata davvero e non solo vista. Insomma, si è rivelata una ragazza-cipolla: piena di strati da togliere per raggiungere il vero cuore, che a differenza della pelle non fa lacrimare come ci si aspetta, ma è prezioso ed unico.

"Se ne va. Eppure resta da qualche parte, sulla mia pelle e sul mio cuore. Vorrei farglielo vedere, fino a che punto me la sento addosso."

Con Fosco è stato diverso, è stata simpatia a prima pagina: redattore in una rivista di videogiochi, programmatore e praticante del parkour per passione, fidanzato devoto.. insomma, perfetto! Ma anche lui, sotto le sue magliette nerd nasconde tanti muscoli problemi: la fidanzata quanto l'ho odiata lo mette alle strette per farlo avanzare in carriera, fregandosene di ciò che vuole lui e non mostrando la minima comprensione, e lui che fa, perchè la ama e vuole salvare una relazione ormai raffreddata da tempo? E' disposto a mettere da parte i suoi sogni per lei... (ma quanto è romantico e bellino?? ç_ç) 

Lui ed Emilia vivono quindi in mondi agli antipodi, uno fatto di computer e lavoro d'ufficio, l'altro circondato dai riflettori e messo in bella mostra sulle copertine delle riviste di gossip. Cosa succederebbe quindi se i riflettori si spostassero DENTRO l'ufficio per una collaborazione inaspettata? Tante chiacchiere, figuracce ed equivoci, ascensori che si bloccano, mani che si sfiorano.. tante cose, e tutte molto interessanti!
Col passare dei mesi e il sopraggiungere di varie difficoltà lavorative e familiari ci rendiamo conto di quanto i due sono in realtà simili: il padre di Fosco lo ritiene un fallito e non perde occasione per manifestare tutta la sua disapprovazione, la madre di Emilia le ha sempre detto apertamente che non ha altra qualità se non quella di essere bella e men che meno ha del talento in altri campi, spiattellando senza problemi le difficoltà della ragazza... nessuno dei due crede quindi più in sè stesso e nei propri sogni, ma una convivenza "forzata" li porterà a conoscersi meglio e a scoprire ciascuno il talento dell'altro: Fosco è un bravissimo programmatore che da anni sta preparando il suo personale gioco ed Emi è una cuoca di grande talento. Ed è proprio così che il ragazzo all'apparenza sfigato e la ragazza che voleva solo apparire diventano amici che non riescono a stare l'uno senza l'altra. Questa amicizia/attrazione si trasformerà in qualcosa di più?

"Non dice niente, ma si infila tra le mie braccia. Non mi interessa se la sto stringendo troppo, se durerà più di quanto deve. Potrebbe non finire mai, e mi starebbe bene. Non c'è una misura giusta per una cosa come questa. Non esiste imbarazzo, non ci sono domande."

▲ La crescita di Emilia
Adoro quando un personaggio cresce durante la storia, e quella di Emi è stata una crescita palpabile ed evidente: ha affrontato le difficoltà e i problemi che aveva e grazie a Fosco che le è stato accanto ha preso in mano la sua vita e il suo futuro, maturando e diventando una donna che non credeva di poter essere.
▲ L'elemento nerd-geek
Adoro la "nerdità" in genere nei romanzi, e il lavoro e la passione di Fosco per la programmazione e i videogiochi sono stati un elemento caratteristico in perfetta opposizione al mondo di Emi!
▲ Romantico ma non stucchevole
Non amo i libri eccessivamente romantici, che mi fanno venire il latte alle ginocchia, ma questo è stato semplicemente perfetto sotto questo punto di vista. Ho potuto scrivere solo poche frasi come citazioni, mi sono contenuta, altrimenti avrei ricopiato paragrafi interi.. certe scene, certe emozioni così descritte sono state per me pura poesia! *-* 
▲ Love story secondaria
Mi sembra di averlo scritto altre 2 volte almeno (una per ogni altro romanzo di Bianca XD) ma non posso non ripeterlo: non so come faccia tutte le volte a infilare una specie di love-story secondaria che mi fa prudere le mani... eh si, perchè la introduce, la porta avanti talmente piano che sembra non ci sia ma c'è (l'ho vista, non sono matta! Alice e Alex, dove siete?! ç_ç), MA poi non la sviluppa! E' come sentire odore di patatine fritte ma non poterle mangiare! DATEMI IL LORO ROMANZOOOO! Una dolce sofferenza..

"Non potrò più essere così per nessuno. Lei è il mio punto di non ritorno. Non sarò capace di darmi a nessuno, al di fuori di lei. Devo mordere le sue labbra per non dirglielo. Questo sì, la farebbe scappare."

▼ L'ottusità maschile di Fosco
[Forse per la prima volta scrivo qualcosa di sensato qui XD] Ho passato tutta l'ultima parte del romanzo a desiderare di prendere a badilate Fosco. Ma forte, proprio. Non riuscivo a capire come potesse non arrivare a capire una certa cosa (che non vi dico), che Emi avrebbe compreso ed accettato.. eh no, lui deve invece complicare tutto e farci soffrire.... shame ragazzo, sveglia! Le donne sono comprensive! (quasi sempre almeno XD)

5 stelline ad Instagirl, che è stato uno dei rari casi in cui ho preferito la protagonista femminile a quello maschile (E chi l'avrebbe detto?? In barba al mio giudizio pre-lettura!) e che mi ha fatto ricredere sulle apparenze: spesso giudichiamo troppo in fretta le persone (io in primis) e non ci rendiamo conto di cosa e quanto si può nascondere sotto la superficie.. un mare di solitudine, ricerca di attenzione, incomprensione, ma anche amore da poter dare e talento nascosto! Attenzione quindi alle prime impressioni...
Consigliato: assolutamente SI, leggete ogni romanzo possibile di questa autrice!

Elisa è una ragazza rimasta ferita dalla vita, dalla perdita delle persone care, che si è attaccata agli affetti che le sono rimasti e ha costruito un muro che nessuno può abbattere: protegge il suo cuore dietro a una serie di tatuaggi, capelli colorati e abiti scuri stile punk, vieta a se stessa di affezionarsi ai ragazzi, così da non dover perdere più nessuno, convincendosi che tanto starà benissimo anche da sola. 
Ma si sa, quando l'amore arriva non chiede permesso, arriva, abbatte i muri e trovolge tutto ciò che trova.
In questo caso "amore" ha un viso perfetto, biondissimi capelli impeccabili e vestiti firmati. E porta il nome di Andrea Serpieri.
Non fatevi ingannare, stavolta non si tratta di una facciata perfetta che nasconde un cattivo ragazzo, perchè il ragazzo in questione è perfetto anche dentro! Gentiluomo, educato, ricco di famiglia, sempre impeccabile.... una persona praticamente irritante per Elisa, l'opposto dei ragazzi con cui si rapporta di solito. 
Elisa e Andrea si conoscono da 10 anni ma si sono scambiati solo qualche parola: lei pensa di conoscerlo, pensa di averlo inquadrato nella sua perfetta cornice di ricchezza e durezza, ignorando totalmente il mare di sentimenti ed emozioni che si nascondono sotto la superficie.

"L'azzurro dei suoi occhi è un paradosso. Chiarissimo e, allo stesso tempo, indecifrabile, è un mare di cristallo in cui, forse, non è prudente addentrarsi. Ho il sospetto che ci si tagli e basta."

I loro incontri-scontri avvengono sullo sfondo dell'affascinante mondo dell'equitazione: non avevo mai letto nulla che avesse a che fare con i cavalli e ne sono rimasta piacevolmente sorpresa! Non avevo idea di cosa potesse esserci dietro alle scuderie, ai maneggi, alle gare.. è un mondo davvero entusiasmante, soprattutto per il rapporto tra cavaliere e cavallo: mi sono innamorata del "binomio" (che è davvero un concetto bellissimo) composto da Elisa e il suo cavallino Sparkle e di quanto lei lo ama e lo rispetta. Perchè sì, a volte gli animali ci conoscono meglio degli esseri umani, sanno capirci e darci quello di cui abbiamo bisogno. Anche loro, se vengono compresi, rispettati e amati, sanno regalarci il loro cuore e la loro fedeltà.

Proprio grazie a Sparkle incomincia il burrascoso rapporto tra Elisa e Andrea: lei era finalmente riuscita a mettere via abbastanza soldi per poterlo finalmente comprare, MA il signor Serpieri offre molto di più per il cavallo, portandosi così via il sogno di Elisa. E lei, giustamente, gli rifila un bel pugno in faccia. E sì, se ve lo state chiedendo, questa è la prima scena in cui i due si incontrano "faccia a faccia", quindi figuratevi cosa succede dopo.
Lei già lo sopportava poco, ora inizia proprio ad odiarlo, non gli permette nemmeno di parlarle, è totalmente chiusa e maldisposta verso di lui, lo crede un robot calcolatore senza sentimenti.. ma presto scoprirà che non è così.
Perchè quando lui sembra andare male di proposito con Sparkle in una gara, quando scopre il tradimento della sua fidanzata con il suo migliore amico, la sua impenetrabile maschera di perfezione incomincia a incrinarsi ed Elisa intravede qualcosa sotto la superficie. Qualcosa che non credeva ci fosse: un ragazzo gentile, con tante insicurezze, preda degli obblighi verso la famiglia e che tutto è tranne che felice.
E allora succede l'impensabile: i due iniziano a parlare come persone civili, quasi come dei veri amici, e presto ciò che lei sperava non succedesse mai, che ha sempre cercato di impedire accade, proprio con l'ultima persona che si sarebbe aspettata...

"Quando sai di essere così importante per qualcuno, se sai di essere la condizione per farlo star bene, allora non puoi far altro che lasciarti pervadere da questa sensazione che è onnipotenza ma anche responsabilità. I legami sono fatti di entrambe le cose."

Per una volta il ragazzo non è un bad boy ma è impostato, rigido e impacciato: a volte avrei voluto prenderlo a schiaffi perché avesse una reazione che non fosse proprio da robot, ma resta comunque un essere dolce e perfetto che ho finito per amare. <3
Lei è sgangherata, nel vero senso della parola: si veste e trucca per fare colpo e/o irritare chi la vede, per nascondersi mettendosi in mostra, per sembrare forte. Non ha peli sulla lingua, prende quello che vuole e combatte con i denti per i suoi sogni. In barba all'educazione, al quieto vivere e a chi vuole farle seguire delle regole, lei vive a modo suo, sbraita, si tatua e prende a pugni chi le ruba i sogni.

Elisa e i suoi fratelli sono una bellissima famiglia, si prendono cura uno dell'altro, anche a distanza, anche se ognuno ha i suoi problemi: si fanno da padre, madre, si consigliano e si proteggono. Davvero un rapporto bellissimo.

So che sono in molti ad aver apprezzato (e sono contenta di aggiungermi al gruppo) la travagliata storia d'amore tra uno dei fratelli di Elisa, Vittorio, e Bianca, la sorella di Andrea.... e per travagliata intendo che lui è stato brutalmente scaricato, lei è fuggita in Francia e ora è in procinto di sposarsi con un inutile e insulso uomo francese... ammetto di aver sperato per gran parte del tempo che lui entrasse platealmente in chiesa e fermasse il matrimonio, perchè era evidente che tra i due ci fosse ancora qualcosa... per scoprire se l'ha fatto dovete leggere, ovviamente.... per giustificare il fatto che mi siano tanto piaciuti posso dire: sono una donna e noi donne, a quanto pare, ci sguazziamo nei drammi, ci piace soffrire anche quando bastava parlare per chiarirsi, ci piacciono le storie complesse dove ci si spezza il cuore, ahimè.... (ma siamo normali??? XD)

Cosa dovrei dirvi? I capelli di Andrea erano troppo perfetti? Troppo biondo, occhi troppo azzurri? Nah.

5 stelline al "romanzo sui cavalli", che mi ha conquistata e mi ha fatto scoprire una nuova bellissima disciplina: non dico che farò mai equitazione nè che proverò, però posso tranquillamente ammettere che facendo zapping in televisione ho visto delle gare e mi sono imbambolata a guardare come e quanto saltavano i cavalli, a cercare di capire se il cavallo ne aveva ancora o no, a vedere come alcuni erano irrequieti, se il binomio funzionava o meno... insomma, mi ha lasciato qualcosa di bello che non dimenticherò!
[Ora però aspetto anche qualcosa su Bianca e Vittorio, magari sia sul loro passato, per farmi un altro po' di male, che sul futuro.....(futuro magari felice eh...)]
Consigliato: assolutamente SI, lo rileggerei anche subito!

Bonus: su amazon è disponibile anche un capitolo extra, da leggere solo dopo aver finito il romanzo, ma il pov è quello di Andrea! In pratica, buttatevici a pesce che è dolcissimo! *w* (lo trovate >>>QUI<<<)

Unboxing Illumicrate "The Starfall Edition"

Ho deciso di dedicare un post apposito per mostrarvi uno dei miei ultimi acquisti... in barba al proposito dell'anno che mi ero prefissata.. >[*comprare meno box librose*]<
Beh, non ho potuto mantenerlo perchè la Illumicrate, una compagnia inglese, ha dedicato una box speciale per l'uscita del nuovo libro di Sarah J. Maas, "A court of frost and starlight"! Quindi, potevo forse resistere?
Essendo una box speciale non faceva parte delle loro scatole standard, che escono una volta ogni tre mesi, costava di più e conteneva ben più oggetti!
Ora smetto di parlare e passo a farvi vedere cosa ho trovato! Alla fine del post però, vi racconto la mia brutta esperienza con questa scatola/compagnia.... ahimè, non è andato tutto liscio come con le scatole che ho acquistato in passato....

EXTRA/bonus preorder - chi ha preordinato il libro poteva richiedere una spilla dalla C.E. come bonus; l'acquisto della scatola era valido come preordine.... siccome era un'iniziativa aperta solo all'America e all'Inghilterra una gentilissima ragazza inglese ha richiesto la mia insieme alla sua e poi me l'ha inviata! <3

UNBOXING COMPLETO!!

Ma è tutto bellissimo, direte voi! Sì, lo è, ogni oggetto è bellissimo, ben curato, con una grafica favolosa.... peccato che io abbia pagato per il libro in copertina rigida e mi sia arrivato il paperback!

A quanto pare la Illumicrate per inscatolare tutto si affida ad una compagnia, non sono loro di persona a farlo... e la suddetta compagnia ha fatto un gran casino: ha inviato il paperback a chi aveva ordinato l'hardback, e viceversa... per lo meno a parecchi è successo così! In questo modo chi aveva pagato di più ha ricevuto meno, e chi ha risparmiato i soldi e ha scelto il copertina morbida si è comunque visto arrivare un libro dal maggior valore.... che dire, potrete immaginare la mia frustrazione, no? Dopo un paio di settimane è arrivata la comunicazione che la compagnia ha controllato lo stock rimasto, e non essendoci più hardback hanno rimborsato la differenza agli sfigati come me... che ora si ritrovano ad avere un libro diverso dagli altri....

In più, il portalibro che vedete è più piccolo, fatto su misura per il paperback (in pratica un libro un po' più spesso non ci sta, non ci sta niente in pratica...), mentre la versione più grande era insieme all'hardback.... ovvio.... di questi invece ne sono avanzati, quindi almeno quello dovrebbero rispedirmelo.... e speriamo che stavolta non ci siano errori!

Questa è stata la mia prima - e quasi sicuramente ultima - esperienza con la Illumicrate: non mi piace il fatto che si affidino ad altri per le spedizioni, altre compagnie come la Fairyloot o la Owlcrate si occupano di persona di inscatolare e questo mi fa pensare ad una maggior cura e volontà di accertarsi che sia tutto in ordine... ora, capisco che magari per loro non sia possibile, avranno anche tanti impegni, però da compratore per lo stesso prezzo (perchè alla fine costano uguale) preferisco essere sicura di ciò che compro ed affidarmi ad altri!

[non escludo che in futuro, se mai dovessero fare altre box speciali, magari senza scelta della tipologia di libro, io non cada di nuovo nella trappola..... capitemi, sono vulnerabile a queste cose..... XD]
